The Standards and Controls Team are an expanding Department within Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) – Responsible for Developing, Implementing and Updating Standards for Manufacturing Assembly Equipment. The department is responsible for managing the delivery of Facilities to Jaguar Land Rover Equipment Standards, specifically Mechanical, Electrical, Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) Software and Robot Programming Software Development - in Manufacturing Assembly Operation areas within Jaguar Land Rover.

 

As the Lead Engineer you would be reporting to the Standards & Controls Manager and working as part of a multi skilled team in Standards and Controls.

 

You’ll lead and assist in the development of PLC code for standard interfaces, lead the Controls and Standards input into new AME deliverable projects and support the development strategy for future technologies, equipment, and facilities. You would also support the planning, procurement, installation and final commissioning of manufacturing facilities for New Model Launches on manufacturing plants.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

You should have knowledge of, and involvement in, Project Management of facility installations, especially commissioning. Ideally you will have experience in Automation, PLC and Robot Applications.

You’ll ideally be working towards or currently educated to Degree / HND level in an Automotive Manufacturing Technical Field. Ideally, you may also have a background in a time served engineering apprenticeship or extensive experience in an Automotive Controls Systems or Facilities Management Background.
