As a Launch Engineer you’ll be responsible for leading an area of product coaches through launch build phases on multiple programmes. The role will require strong leadership skills and will drive and support your team to achieve scorecard target, in regards to Safety, Quality, Delivery Cost, Moral and Environmental objectives. Day to day you’ll promote and ensure compliance against Launch Quality Operating System (LQOS) principles and the use of standardised work instructions and problem and countermeasure resolutions.
The role will involve a high level of autonomy and will require a high level of commitment and flexibility to deliver various launch build phases within difficult time constraints within designated areas, Pilot Plants, Gaydon and Solihull.
You’ll need to be able to demonstrate sound understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts and problem solving methodologies, and have the drive and motivation to achieve goals in a fast paced pressurised environment. Your organisational skills will play a crucial part your success and must demonstrate a willingness to learn and develop.
The role will require you to communicate at all levels so you must have strong interpersonal skills and a confident approach. Flexibility will be paramount, and will be expected to work around shifts, sometimes at short notice. You’ll be proficient in the use of MS Office applications and possess good presentation skills. You must be a team player and demonstrate an acumen to anticipate future challenges and opportunities.
Ideally you’ll have experience with launch activities, preferably within an automotive/manufacturing environment.
