LOCATION: Coventry, West Midlands

WHAT TO EXPECT

Using state-of-the-art facilities, you’ll provide the power behind our vehicles working in our Powertrain Engineering team. You'll find the ideal balance between performance and sustainability, while responding to the environmental issues that shape our industry.

This role sits within the Powertrain Technical Training Team and will support the team’s objectives by developing and delivering the in-plant training to apprentices, technicians and new starters along with the up-skilling and refresher training of skilled employees.

As Technician and Mentor Support Trainer, you’ll be responsible for helping to provide leadership to those holding development and training support posts within the team. You’ll provide assistance with the development and delivery of a training framework which will include developing training material (such as lessons, practical sessions, SPL’s), delivering training lessons and practical sessions and co-ordinating learners and learning programmes and progress tracking and recording of learners’ competencies.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

You’ll hold a minimum NVQ Level 4 or HNC in an engineering related filed along with a, or working towards an approved mentoring / training qualification. In addition you’ll have proven experience of working in a training environment with the ability to deliver training material effectively to enable application of practical skills.

You’ll be an influential communicator with strong team leadership skills, specifically co-ordinating and motivating a team in a demanding environment. Strong problem solving skills and proven ability to plan effectively, co-ordinate and control workflow is essential as is knowledge of Health and Safety requirements, Risk Assessments and COSHH. You’ll demonstrate a willingness and ability to work towards a NVQ Level 5 and Level 5 Leadership or management qualification, if not already obtained.
