An ever-evolving heritage. A truly exciting future. Two of the world’s most iconic brands. Jaguar Land Rover is revered across the globe. Continually pushing the boundaries of innovation and redefining the benchmark for excellence, we set the standards others want to follow. We want to keep it that way too. Which is where you join the journey.

Quality is what we stand for. We manufacture premium vehicles to the highest quality standard and to delivery schedules set out by the logistics and planning functions, which are driven by customer demand.

The Project Control & Diagnosis Team is a brand new team in our business, forming a centralised activity to define customer warranty problems in a way that resolving teams can understand them fast and act fast to fix the problem. The information gained from a data defined input to our team is used to generate deeper investigation cross-functionally and throughout the world as necessary.

In your role as a Project Control Engineer, you’ll be leading problem-solving analysis and the  creation of standard problem definition using problem-solving techniques. You'll be defining issue liabilities and recommending a resolving team based on the analysis findings. You’ll conduct manufacturing process audits in both our plants and our and suppliers' plants, and you’ll lead projects on process analysis, process capability, control plans, production part approval process (PPAP), drawings and specifications, FMEA, PFMEA, and the control plan. This role will also see you participate in the development and refinement of design and process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEAs), providing concise, complete and accurate documentation of inspection results relative to the area of responsibility.

You’ll be an experienced engineer and keen to work in a team of engineers who are experts in powertrain, electrical, vehicle and chassis engineering. The team will work collaboratively and nimbly to meet the demanding tasks set of them. 6 Sigma methodology knowledge will be crucial for success, as will a high drive for success, experience of working cross-functionally, and confidence in genuinely motivating others.

Ideally, you'll have in-depth knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), 8D Disciplines, 5 Why’s and Pareto Analysis. You'll also need to have strong verbal and written communication skills, and will be able to work well with diverse groups of people and function independently of direct supervision.

Proven application of problem solving and an understanding / experience of some or all of PD PVT, PD Attributes, PD CoCs, Manufacturing, STA, Service and Marketing is beneficial. Experience using Microsoft Project and / or Minitab is desirable, as is a degree in a technical discipline.

Bring all this to the home of premium innovation, and you’ll find the opportunities to further your career with a world-class team, a discounted car purchase and lease scheme for you and your family, membership of a competitive pension plan and performance related bonus scheme. All this and more makes Jaguar Land Rover the perfect place to continue your journey.
