An ever-evolving heritage. A truly exciting future. Two of the world’s most iconic brands. Jaguar Land Rover is revered across the globe. Continually pushing the boundaries of innovation and redefining the benchmark for excellence, we set the standards others want to follow. We want to keep it that way too. Which is where you join the journey.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The Powertrain Metrology team supports the development of new engines and analyses warranty failures on existing engines through high accuracy measurement.

Join the team as a Metrology Inspector, and you’ll run a variety of metrology equipment and deliver the metrology tasks within the department.  This will include operating the coordinate measurement machine (CMM), portable metrology devices, optical CMM, 2D/3D surface form, and x-ray CT.

You’ll ensure that the measurement is robust and conforms to internal and international standards for measurement validity and working practices. You’ll complete a basic analysis of results and will write the initial report of findings.  You’ll also undertake studies to ensure repeatability and reproducibility of measurements, including analysis of any gauge R&R studies.

On top of this, you’ll be responsible for all safety precautions associated with your role. You’ll demonstrate safe working practices and will be ready to challenge your colleagues to do the same - championing safety across the workplace. You’ll also drive process and facility improvements as the function grows.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Like us, you’re passionate about quality and process improvement. You'll hold a recognised Indentured Apprenticeship in a technical discipline or equivalent academic qualification, or will be a NVQ Level 3 Motor or Vehicle Technician. You will also have previous experience in the practical application of inspection methodology and metrology equipment, particularly with regard to measurement uncertainty and its estimation.

You must be able to demonstrable metrology skills including setting measurements up using Metrology First Principles and knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

BENEFITS

Bring all this to the home of premium innovation, and you’ll find the opportunities to further your career with a world-class team, a privilege purchase scheme, membership of a competitive pension plan and performance related bonus scheme. All this and more makes Jaguar Land Rover the perfect place to continue your journey.
