Our Marketing, Sales and Service (MS&S) teams are responsible for all customer-facing activities, from developing and maintaining the dealer network to managing importers and export partners. Their responsibilities continue through to global sales planning and supply of vehicles to markets, the sales process to customers, and all global customer service and aftersales activities.

The Pre-owned business is a fundamental contributor to the achievement of our ambitious sales growth. Successful development of the Pre-owned business will ensure a profitable dealer network, and it will enable Jaguar Land Rover to take control of its residual values, gaining market share from its competitors and ultimately achieve high levels of customer retention. The Jaguar Approved and Land Rover Approved global programme was launched and deployed globally throughout 2015 and 2016. Establishing best-in-class Pre-owned processes across the global network and embedding these will build successful and sustainable Pre-owned Jaguar and Land Rover business, generating customer demand, supporting trade-in ability, creating good returns on investment for the network. This will be key to supporting the new vehicle sales growth and a healthy network.

The Measurement and Compliance Management role has the responsibility for measuring both the qualitative and quantitative performance of the Jaguar Land Rover Approved Programme around the world. As the Pre-owned programme can be managed only through consistent measurement, this role is critical to our success.

The progressive roll-out of a global retailer composite will provide core used vehicle KPIs measured consistently on a monthly or quarterly basis against individual retailer business plans. Aggregated on a national level, the combined composite results will enable Jaguar Land Rover to measure the impact of the Pre-owned programme in each market. This will include at a macro level, in terms of premium Pre-owned segment share, Jaguar Land Rover Pre-owned volumes and residual values, but also at a micro level of individual retailer performance in terms of Stock Turn, Volume and retailer Return On Investment.

Qualitative delivery of the Pre-owned programme at a retailer level will be measured through regular auditing of retailer Pre-owned standards and processes. This will enable Jaguar Land Rover through the Pre-owned Performance and Development Managers and local Pre-owned field managers to action and embed best-in-class standards and processes. This in turn will drive up Pre-owned quality, efficiencies, volume, stock-turn and ROI, as well as raising the awareness of the Pre-owned Jaguar and Land Rover customer proposition, creating a market demand and strong residual values.

In this role, you’ll identify the most appropriate tools or techniques to deliver an effective and reliable set of quantitative and qualitative measurements of global Pre-owned performance. You’ll continually challenge the Global Business Management team and the Regional teams to drive improvements in the quality of retailer composite submissions. You’ll also set the benchmark for accurate and timely data submission and analysis, and you’ll contribute to the identification of opportunities and development of new approaches to measure and drive improved Pre-owned marketing efficiency and effectiveness.

In addition, you’ll analyse Jaguar Land Rover Pre-owned marketing customer awareness and consideration as a barometer of the programme and will feed all noted analysis and recommendations to the APO Marketing and Communications Manager. Finally, it will be your responsibility to manage the global auditing process and detailed content ensuring accuracy and usability for timely and relevant reporting. You’ll also be required to implement a robust escalation and resolution process for noted repeat failures to ensure continuous improvement and development with the retail network.


To be successful in this role, you’ll require a thorough understanding of Pre-owned data, UV KPIs, market/marketing, web metrics, remarketing, residual values, qualitative audit data, etc. You’ll be familiar with retailer network composites, with retailer business planning or budgeting software being an advantage, and you’ll have experience of residual value management and reporting as well as a record of presenting data to colleagues and senior management in an understandable and actionable format. Though not essential, rounding your profile with knowledge of linking retailer process to financial performance will also be an advantage.
