WHAT TO EXPECT

 

Driveline Engineering are responsible for the design, development and introduction of all-wheel drive systems, drive units and prop/halfshafts to meet the requirements of all Jaguar Land Rover vehicles. This role is for a Lead Engineer within the Drive Units and Shafts team.

 

The purpose of this role is to coordinate the design, development, testing and introduction of new components or systems whilst maintaining project timing and programme costs to target. Operating in the powertrain division, Lead Engineers report directly to the relevant Group Leaders and have an additional matrix report into Module Leaders when working on specific vehicle programmes.

 

In your new role, you'll be working closely with Supplier Technical Assurance and Purchasing colleagues to manage suppliers’ progress towards production and achievement of Part Supply Warrant.  You’ll liaise across engineering functions to ensure attribute targets such as fuel economy, emissions, NVH and Vehicle Dynamics are met and ensure all Jaguar Landrover engineering standards are met and documented at engineering gateways

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

You’ll come to this role with previous experience and expertise in the specification and delivery of major driveline commodities within a powertrain environment. It is essential that you have a thorough understanding of transmission or driveline systems and designs and you'll have prior experience of data analysis and a strong understanding of design quality tools.

 

You’ll have a degree in a mechanical engineering discipline, or are able to demonstrate equivalent levels of training and experience.
