An ever-evolving heritage. A truly exciting future. Two of the world’s most iconic brands. Jaguar Land Rover is revered across the globe. Continually pushing the boundaries of innovation and redefining the benchmark for excellence, we set the standards others want to follow. We want to keep it that way too. Which is where you join the journey.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Using state-of-the-art facilities, you’ll provide the power behind our vehicles working in our Powertrain Engineering team. You'll find the ideal balance between performance and sustainability, while responding to the environmental issues that shape our industry.

The Lead Engineer is responsible for leading a team of engineers to develop transmission ancillary components for automatic transmissions. The ancillary components are vital to the function of the transmission and include items such as heatshields, acoustic covers, thermal encapsulation and breathers as an example. This role encompasses all aspects of product development from specification of JLR’s requirements through packaging, advanced CAD and CAE techniques to ensure these components meet JLR requirements in the virtual environment through to physical testing of the final design. The Lead Engineer will also work in partnership with our ODEC Teams who provide engineering support to the UK team.

Some of the key accountabilities and responsibilities include and are not limited to: leading the application of the transmission’s ancillary components, leading the development of ancillary components to meet vehicle packaging constraints and leading the generation of DV procedures and updating the DVP status in conjunction with the vehicle testing teams.

A key challenge within the role is to manage complexity across the whole product range where commonality is important but also ensuring specific functional and cost targets are met.  Being part of a team that is responsible for delivering one of the most complex and costly components on the car, this role is both challenging and offers great opportunity to develop technically and commercially

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

It is essential that you’ll have previous experience of leading the resolution of business, technical and process issues within a Project Team environment. A good working knowledge of product creation & delivery, change control, product definition and change management processes is also essential.

BENEFITS

Bring all this to the home of premium innovation, and you will find the opportunities to further your career with a world-class team. Our employees have access to a privilege car purchase scheme, membership of a competitive pension plan, performance related bonus scheme and 26 days holiday entitlement. All this and more makes Jaguar Land Rover the perfect place to continue your journey.

Jaguar Land Rover is committed to equal opportunity for all.
