This role is also eligible for other additional allowances to base salary.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The Steering team within Steering, Wheels and Tyres is a vital part of the Chassis Engineering function, this team is responsible for the design, development and integration of column and electric power steering solutions into Jaguar Land Rover products.

 

There is a steering strategy which drives the technology developments required to deliver premium steering attributes and functionality.

 

As the Lead Engineer for Advanced Steering, you’ll report into the Power Assisted Steering Technical Specialist and be responsible for proposing, planning and delivering advanced engineering project activities for future Jaguar Land Rover model programmes. You’ll define and lead advanced steering technology projects, evaluate applicability of new steering technologies and functions and you’ll define the implementation requirements to ensure a seamless handover to the delivery team.

 

You’ll work with internal Jaguar Land Rover stakeholders and external organisations to deliver projects in line with agreed priorities and timelines. You’ll prepare and present regular technology status updates, develop standards and processes that support the delivery of new technologies into the mainstream and maintain robust documentation in line with milestone project practices.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

As an experienced Engineer, you’ll have a strong technical knowledge and working background with mechatronics technology; the ability to evaluate technical proposals and lead technical discussions and have a flexible approach to the adoption of new technologies and standards.

 

You’ll be an excellent communicator with the ability and confidence to present to senior stakeholders within the organisation, be highly driven and able to prioritise and control the workload of supporting team members.

 

In addition you’ll be educated to degree level within a relevant engineering subject and ideally have experience with elector-mechanical or control systems. We’d also like you to have an understanding of techniques or tools used to model steering technologies in a CAE environment.
