WHAT TO EXPECT

 

Using state-of-the-art facilities, you’ll provide the power behind our vehicles working in our Powertrain Engineering team. You'll find the ideal balance between performance and sustainability, while responding to the environmental issues that shape our industry.

 

Jaguar Land Rover has made a major investment in new testing capability to ensure future Powertrain development can take place and meet the business requirement to develop new and exciting products. A facility has been specified that will be established in late 2017 that is state of the art and provides a unique opportunity for testing of complete vehicle Powertrains.

 

The Powertrain Test Cells are part of the Powertrain Test Operations (PTTO) and Product Development. The team maintains productive workflow from the Powertrain test facilities. This workflow includes engine build, Powertrain preparation, vehicle workshop, and engine dynamometer and rig test capability.

 

The Lead Engineer Advanced Propulsion, is responsible for the provision of equipment support and capability, analytical and instrumentation equipment. You’ll operate across the facility managing workflow, leading and guiding the team to ensure provide the capability to satisfy customer requests, whilst anticipating and providing for future requirements.

 

You'll be working with a wide range of engineering customers, skilled test facility operators, suppliers, external agencies and organisations. You'll have responsibility for providing data and analysis to give assurance that our facility and output meet the requirements of established international standards for laboratory accreditation. A key area will be focussing on maintaining productive capability, assurance of data quality and maintenance of our process documents.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED       

 

You’ll be educated to degree level in a Science, Engineering or Mathematical discipline with experience in a Powertrain test environment and knowledge of test facility requirements and specifications. You’ll be experienced in the use of reference equipment, calibration stations, cells and rigs with the ability to validate, prepare and read flow and electrical diagrams.

 

In addition, you’ll demonstrate proven leadership and workload management experience with the ability to plan, coordinate and control own workflow and achieve quality results. Strong computer skill including Microsoft Office competency is a must as is, commitment, flexibility, self-motivation and robust clear communication skills.
