WHAT TO EXPECT

 

With your experience of working in an Industrial Engineer role within a Manufacturing environment, coupled with the knowledge of engineering tools and techniques to achieve programme targets, you’ll join our Power Train Manufacturing Engineering (PTME) department as an Industrial Engineer.

 

The Power Train Manufacturing Engineering (PTME) department are responsible for the development and introduction of new and modified processes and facilities, which are associated with new model introductions and model year changes within Powertrain. The team is supporting future engine developments for the complete range of Jaguar Land Rover vehicles. You'll be responsible for developing our new, technologically advanced power train assembly facilities that are currently under design and manufacture, to support the Jaguar Land Rover global powertrain initiatives.

 

You'll be a key part of the team, working closely with the Engine Programme team, PTME Programme Managers and Engine Plant Manufacturing Operations. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the achievement of manpower targets and successful launch of programmes and model years, through the deployment of industrial engineering tools and techniques and to assist and support Product Development and Manufacturing Engineering to develop processes and facilities to ensure that the most efficient product and processes are developed and delivered.

 

You’ll contribute to all allocated projects ensuring these are in line with the area’s operating system and monitor the Hours per Unit and support Harbour reporting for the purposes of efficiency improvements and assist in the development of manufacturing best practice (benchmarking) productivity ideas and tools ensuring that these are incorporated into the programme and work on design for assembly analysis through virtual programme phases. You’ll also drive continuous improvement by establishing a specific course of action, and appropriately manage time, tasks, budgets and resources to ensure a first class service to our customer base.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

You’ll have extensive experience of working as an Industrial Engineer within a Manufacturing environment and a proven track record in the deployment of a wide range of industrial engineering tools and techniques to achieve programme targets. You’ll have previous experience of working with Product Development and Power Train Manufacturing Engineering processes and be educated to a minimum of HNC level or equivalent in a relevant discipline.

 

You’ll have the ability to implement change effectively and ensure efficient running of the operation with the use of planning and timing tools to deliver on-going projects. You’ll be proficient with use of PC Systems & Packages, and have the ability to create reports, analyse and interpret statistical data based on various key metrics. You’ll be a strong communicator, both written & verbally and have the confidence to present your information in front of groups of people, including Senior Management.

 

You’ll have effective leadership skills with the ability of coordinating & supporting groups of people through complex processes in a fast paced and demanding environment.  You’ll be highly motivated and proactive individual, with the flexibility to travel within UK and overseas to support facility buy offs and JLR Global Test Facilities for extended periods of time and have excellent quality awareness with the drive and enthusiasm to deliver a world class product.
