Joining out Research function as a Lead Biometrics Research and Innovation Engineer, you’ll be contributing to the development of new technologies and features up to the ‘concept ready’ stage, ensuring all activity plans and technologies are delivered to our mainstream engineering functions. You will focus on a number of biometrics research projects, including contact and no contact electro-cardiogram measurements and associated technologies.


You’ll contribute to the resolution of key technical and strategic challenges, developing proof-of-concept technologies alongside key suppliers and providing technical support during handover to other engineering functions within the business. You’ll also ensure new and innovative ideas are put forward for patent filing where necessary.






You’ll have worked in research-related roles that cover similar technologies, bringing exceptional technical development expertise. You’ll have knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering gained during degree studies, as well as concepts and ideas based on exposure to computer science and mathematics. You’ll be capable of programming signal processing, and you’ll be able to design electronic circuits.


Ideally you’ll have worked in a research role in an automotive environment, and you’ll have an understanding of the research processes used within our business. Previous experience of working with universities and research partners is highly beneficial.
