WHAT TO EXPECT

 

Jaguar Land Rover has made a major investment in electrification to meet the business requirement to develop new and exciting electrified products. Electric Drive Units become a business critical component to be developed in order to meet needs.

 

As Electric Drive Unit Validation Engineer, you’ll join the Transmission & Driveline Validation Team, working as part of a small organisation tasked with validating Electric Drive Units. These Electric Drive Units need to have a robust and realistic test plan in order to meet the Quality and Reliability target.

 

You’ll be offering internal customers an end to end service, taking a unit design and its scaling as a start point and scheduling all test phases and validation plan associated, in order to meet the Requirements Management and Design Verification (RMDV) requirements target set at the start of program.

 

Implicated with multiple teams, you’ll collate all information necessary to create and perform the most robust accurate and short test plan, minimising the test plan without any compromise on deliverables, both in terms of time and cost.

 

You’ll monitor the reporting for the Lead Engineer, the Group Leader and the Module Leader of your program through dashboards and related documents to feed instances requested. Focussing on constant improvement of our team, you’ll be writing and updating our processes to ensure the most efficient way of delivering our job is achieved.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

You’ll possess a degree or completed a higher apprentice scheme or equivalent, in a relevant engineering discipline. You’ll be highly motivated, a team player with proven communication skills, require minimum supervision and adapt in a fast moving environment, with the flexibility to work on key Jaguar Land Rover test sites.

 

With a working knowledge of transmission and driveline components and interactions with wider vehicle systems, you’ll also have a high level of know how in electric machines and aptitudes for technics in general.

 

Able to follow a structured method of working, you’ll have the capability to create and follow process with a high level of precision. You’ll have a working background with Microsoft tools such as Excel with experience using Matlab or Simulink along with knowledge of Design Failure Mode Effect Analysis.

Finally, you’ll be able, to provide workable solutions to real problems and identify issues, focus on balancing quality and time.
