Earlier this year, Jaguar Land Rover announced a long-term strategic partnership with Waymo, formerly Google’s self-driving car project. The Jaguar I-PACE is at the heart of this partnership, with both companies working together to develop the world’s first premium self-driving electric vehicle, set to join Waymo’s driverless transportation service. Up to 20,000 vehicles will be part of the Waymo driverless fleet in the US by 2020. This long-term strategic collaboration will further Waymo and Jaguar Land Rover’s shared goals: to make cars safer, free up people’s valuable time and improve mobility for everyone.




This is the key technical department for the product creation process, leading the engineering from concept to customer. There are three parts to it: Attribute Quality and Process, Vehicle Integrity Team and Vehicle Engineering Management. Working here, you’ll give our vehicles their unique characteristics. As Durability and Robustness Attribute Lead you’ll aim to ensure all customer expectations for vehicle Durability and Robustness of Jaguar Land Rover vehicles are met or exceeded.

The D&R PAT leader achieves this through attribute target setting & verification Sign Off using both Virtual and Physical test methods. You’ll be responsible for defining and decomposing customer requirements into vehicle level engineering targets, this requires planning, management and reporting of all D&R test activities (vehicle, rig, RLD & virtual) to support the Vehicle Engineering (VE) management team to ensure all technical issues are identified and worked with component engineers and suppliers as required to drive resolution and implementation of solutions.





Educated to Degree level or higher, you’ll need significant experience in the principals of design for durability and robustness. You will also have experience of problem solving tools e.g. Root Cause Analysis, 8 Disciplines of problem solving, Design of Experiments and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) in Manufacturing.


You’ll be a strong communicator with the ability to present within the team, programme, and first line management review forums.
