WHAT TO EXPECT

Driving them is an incredible experience; being the ideas and expertise behind their creation is even more exhilarating.  With your expertise as a Multi-skilled Vehicle Technician and experience in chassis fitting, coupled with an Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant discipline, you’ll join our Prototype Engineering Operations Team as Vehicle Chassis Fitter.

 

The Prototype Operations Team are responsible for the construction prototypes builds to enable vehicle and rig testing to be conducted during the vehicle development programme. The workshop is also responsible for servicing, repair and updating / maintaining prototypes and engineering vehicles throughout their working life

 

As a Chassis Fitter, you’ll join a team of multi-skilled associates in the assembly and maintenance of prototype vehicles and bucks. These vehicles are customised to meet attribute test requirements and in certain cases you will be required to be creative and innovative in facilitating customer needs which will include, assembly of vehicles making / modifying components as required, and removal & fitment of all vehicle systems / sub-systems / components, building / modifying components and vehicles working to engineering drawings, sketches and verbal instructions. You’ll also be required to commission built vehicles using a customised process for each build phase and repair and maintain the engineering fleet vehicles

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

You’ll have a proven background as a Multi-Skilled Vehicle Technician with vast experience in Chassis & Powertrain fitting. You must have obtained an Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant automotive discipline. Have the ability to fabricate minor brackets and jigs, diagnose and repair vehicle faults and an excellent understanding of whole vehicle systems.

 

You must have a Full clean UK Driving License, be prepared to work at various Jaguar Land Rover sites on secondment and have a flexible approach to working overtime and shifts, if the business requires.

 

You’ll have the ability of implementing change and coordinating large groups of people through complex processes in a fast paced and demanding environment. You’ll be proficient with use of PC Systems & Packages and be able to interpret and collate statistical data when making decisions. You’ll be a strong communicator, both written & verbally and have the confidence to present your information in front of groups of people, including Senior Management.
