An opportunity has arisen within our Capacity Centre of Excellence Programme Purchase team for a Capacity Planner. We’re responsible for supporting buyers with supplier capacity planning activities at a commodity level.


In this key role, you’ll support supplier capacity planning for a specific vehicle line or platform. Coordinating with a range of people both within and external to Jaguar Land Rover - from Vehicle Planning & Scheduling, Manufacturing, and Global Sales & Planning; to suppliers, buyers and Supplier Technical Assistance engineers - you’ll manage capacity verification exercises, Vehicle Planning and Scheduling concerns, High Hurts, end of vehicle line (run out) process and support platform Capacity Planning Attributes Team.


Managing the relationship for a specific platform, you’ll follow through on diverse actions identified to ensure the correct capacity is installed in the supply base and registered in the Programme Option Plan Brochure and Capacity Planning Attributes Teams. You’ll proactively make recommendations for process improvement to ensure current learning is embedded in to Jaguar Land Rover’s future IT needs.


This role gives the Capacity Planner a unique opportunity within Purchase to experience the capacity and constraints process, together with the volume uplift exercises. Interacting with Sales, Manufacturing, Vehicle Planning & Scheduling and Programme Management, you’ll ensure Jaguar Land Rover’s volume requirements are communicated, and installed at the supply base.  As your experience grows, you will be able to influence and help shape the future of Jaguar Land Rover’s volume planning and constraints mechanism and contribute to the delivery of challenging, but exciting, volume growth that Jaguar Land Rover has the current business plan.



You’ll need to have knowledge and experience in any of the following areas – Production Purchasing, Material Planning & Logistics, Vehicle Planning & Scheduling, and Supplier Technical Assistance – with exposure to best practices from the automotive industry, as well as wider commercial environment.


It is essential that you’ll have a good understanding of supplier production processes, lead times, and capacity planning.


In addition, you’ll come with advanced computer skills in a variety of applications including Microsoft Office. As a skilled communicator, you’ll be able to negotiate with multiple stakeholders across all levels of the business.
