Continually pushing the boundaries of innovation and redefining the benchmark for excellence, we set the standards others want to follow. We want to keep it that way too. The Engine Test department is part of Powertrain Test Operations and Product Development.  The team maintains productive workflow from the engine build workshop and delivers test capability to the Powertrain Engineering and Certification teams.

As a Calibration Fitter, you’ll calibrate engine test beds and their ancillary equipment to national traceable standards and record the calibration data storing this in the Calibration database and informing customers and management of any calibration anomalies or concerns in a timely manner. You’ll prepare engine test instrumentation as requested by e-tracker or directed by area supervision to support engine test. You’ll also be responsible to book the equipment out on the WASP system and update the system on the equipment’s return and record changes in location and ownership.

Your role will also involve keeping stock levels of instrumentation such as Kistlers, Kulites, Amplifiers and ancillary equipment up to date. Liaise with on-site calibration for instrumentation to traceable standard and run tests to Single Point Lessons (SPL) on instrumentation as required using low voltage test equipment. Your responsibility will be to servicing and calibration of specialist test equipment on or off the test bed to suit business needs once trained on that equipment to improve equipment life and repeatability of results.

You’ll also demonstrate safe working practices, and will be ready to challenge your colleagues to do the same - championing safety across the workplace.

Like us, you’re passionate about quality and process improvement. You’ll have experience in a Powertrain environment and will have knowledge of prototype engine preparation and specifications - including fault finding, problem analysis and rectification.

On top of this, you'll hold a recognised automotive apprenticeship, or a level 3 automotive qualification.  You'll also have comprehensive knowledge of health and safety requirements, as well as risk assessments. You’ll need to hold a full driving licence for this role. Previous experience within a similar role would be favourable but isn’t essential - your advanced vehicle skills and flexibility are key to success.

Bring all this to the home of premium innovation, and you’ll find the opportunities to further your career with a world-class team, a privilege purchase scheme, membership of a competitive pension plan.
