WHAT TO EXPECT

This is the key technical department for the product creation process, leading the engineering from concept to customer. There are three parts to it: Attribute Quality and Process, Vehicle Integrity Team and Vehicle Engineering Management. Working here, you’ll give our vehicles their unique characteristics. It's all part of creating vehicles that delight customers and set us apart from the competition.

Vehicle NVH is responsible for ensuring the many aspects of refinement required to achieve the customer expectations for all Jaguar and Land Rover programmes.  The attribute function is responsible for attribute strategy, methods and targets developed for the full vehicle, systems and components. Hardware is developed physically and virtually, with detailed investigations undertaken to ensure vehicles achieve all defined targets and therefore customer expectations.

As an Airborne Refinement Lead Engineer, working in a well-established team, you’ll be responsible for ensuring targets are set and achieved on a range of future Jaguar Land Rover products from early concept phases through to Engineering sign-off. You’ll manage testing and development activities and undertake Acoustic Pack Integration to ensure that the required Attribute performance is achieved. You’ll be expected to cover all aspects of airborne attenuation delivery by working with Body Engineering and Technical Specialists so that products have a consistent approach in ensuring the robust delivery of attribute targets. You will also be required to support Prototype builds and resolve issues as and when they arise.

The projects you are assigned will continue to develop your engineering skills and business behaviours while delivering to programme deadlines. You will ensure JLR products maintain their attribute position in the premium market sector, Identifying root causes of interior or exterior airborne noise issues, establish design changes required to resolve them and validate any proposed solutions.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

You’ll have significant experience within an automotive NVH environment and a good understanding of customer expectations for NVH performance in premium saloon and 4x4 vehicles combined with strong business behaviours and programme management capability.  In addition, you’ll have experience using NVH analysis software and leading the assessment of any alternative concepts using appropriate virtual tools, both within the department and across the wider engineering teams.

You’ll be comfortable representing the NVH risks and opportunities at standard meeting forums, including Vehicle Integration Team meetings, package reviews and compatibility reviews. Finally, you’ll have a degree or equivalent in an engineering related discipline.

BENEFITS

Bring all this to the home of premium innovation, and you’ll find the opportunities to further your career with a world-class team, a discounted car purchase and lease scheme for you and your family, membership of a competitive pension plan and performance related bonus scheme.
