Every minute of every day, thousands of parts and materials from all over the world are shipped and delivered to our plants, ready to be utilised on our production lines within hours. At the same time, hundreds of customers from across the globe are handed the keys to their newly transported vehicles. A feat like this doesn’t just happen. Behind this momentous undertaking are our Material Planning & Logistics (MP&L) team, coordinating on a massive scale to ensure our vehicles continue to roll smoothly off the production lines and into the hands of the customers awaiting them.

As a Lead Packaging Engineer, you’ll manage the planning, development and implementation of all pallet developments for all new models across all sites. You’ll liaise with pallet manufacturers to ensure robust deliveries and also manage packaging capital budget for New Models and Model Year changes.

 

You’ll be responsible for maintaining and developing documents and procedures within the department. Driving the Packaging Strategy forward through Benchmarking and Research, you’ll help lead the development of packaging suppliers.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

You’ll have experience of overseas shipping methodology and understand the supply chain for packaging. Computer literate, you’ll need proficient skills in all relevant systems, including knowledge of MS Office packages.

You’ll come to us with the ability to work independently, manage priorities, identify issues and solutions using own initiative. You’ll be able to demonstrate drive, a creative flair and a customer focussed approach. To help you manage changing priorities whilst maintaining focus, you’ll need strong organisational skills and a flexible approach.

You’ll be a strong team player, with great communication skills, who is prepared to bring a flexible approach to the role, with a capability of leading/developing a winning team.  Furthermore you must hold a full driving license and be willing to between sites regularly.
